Thesis and Dissertation

The Thesis and Dissertation writing and research program and EmbLogic^TM is an interdisciplinary training/research program that helps early-stage masters and doctoral students in the embedded, embedded Linux, device drivers, image processing, audio video streaming formulate dissertation research for their academic departments or funding agencies. The program seeks students who can strengthen their understanding through exposure to the theories, literatures, methods, and intellectual traditions of disciplines outside their own. To that end, the program offers training, research, workshops, complete paper-work and writing opportunities guided by faculty mentorship and peer review.

In a change from past years, the program is no longer limited to students whose research topics fall within specific fields of study, but rather it is open to all students in the computer sciencs and electronics, who are beginning to formulate proposals for their dissertation research. 

Introduction:

A thesis or dissertation is a document submitted in support of candidature for an academic degree or professional qualification presenting the author's research and findings. A thesis statement declares what you believe and what you intend to prove.  Thesis is used for part of a bachelor's or master's course, while "dissertation" is normally applied to a doctorate.

The required complexity and/or quality of research of a thesis or dissertation can vary by country, university and/or program, therefore, the required minimum study period may vary significantly in duration. The dissertation can at times be used to describe a treatise without relation to obtaining an academic degree.
