IPv4 has a 32-bit address length, which is a numeric address. IPv4 can generate up to 4.3 billion unique addresses only. Since the world's population has exceeded 8 trillion, this number would be insufficient for the growing number of devices connected to the internet. On the other hand, IPv6 is a 128-bit hexadecimal address, which can generate over 340 undecillion unique addresses and provides more security provisions than its predecessor.
IPv4 consists of 32-bit address length and generate upto 4.3 billon addresses since there is huge jump in population since last decade so its insufficiant for the current scale of the internet that's why devolopment of IPv6 is neccessory for the current scale of the internet since IPv6 consists of 128-bit address length and generate upto 340 undecillion address that's quite sufficient for the century.
