014.06.12.1. Given Telnet's long history since its definition in 1969 and updates through several RFCs, how has the evolution of network protocols impacted the relevance and security of Telnet in modern networking?
Telnet is nowadays used less often, as whenever two computers are connected over a network, transmitting sensitive data through network is risky as all sensitive info such as password and username go as it is across the network. Hence, protocol such as SSH which are similar to telnet, with a bit of encryption are used more often across the internet.
