Linux kernel is the core of the system and is loaded into the system by the bootloader. It initializes essential system resources, such as CPU, memory, and devices. Then the root file system is mounted, which is very essential as it contains the core files of the system.

On power button on the firmware runs at first which loads the bootloader for loading the kernel in RAM, the bootloader then loads the kernel.Nex init process having PID 1 is started. Then other user space applications are started. Finally the login shell is loaded with the prompt of username & password.
