i made a program client server using one client in fedora 17. It works in fedora 17 properly and also fedora 15 but it is not working in fedora 16 . It also work on ubuntu 10.01 but not ubuntu one . some time it gives wrong answer and some time it pauses . I dont understand why it happens.

I'm just guessing and going on a hunch .....

Are you using signal() system call in your program?

If you are, then change it to sigaction() because the behavior of signal() system call varies from one Linux version to another.
